Luke Gosling, as a representative of the Albanese Government, will provide an update and engage in general discuss about the latest developments between Australia and Indonesia, and will engage in a special Q&A session.

Biography

Luke Gosling was a member of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) for 13 years in the Parachute Infantry, Commandos and Defence Cooperation Programs. His duties took him to Papua New Guinea, Malaysia and Timor-Leste. After leaving the army, Luke worked in several countries, including Afghanistan, Cambodia, Albania and Timor-Leste. He co-founded Life, Love and Health, a not-for-profit, Australian charity for Timor-Leste. His work with the NGO earned him the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2006 and for his relief work he received the Timor-Leste Presidential Medal of Merit in 2009. Luke established the Remote Area Health Corps in the Northern Territory and worked for the Senator for the Northern Territory before running for political office himself. Since 2016, Luke has been the Federal Member for Solomon which covers Darwin and Palmerston.  He is the Chair of the Regional Development, infrastructure and Transport Committee. In 2024 the Prime Minister appointed Luke as Special Envoy for Defence, Veterans Affairs and Northern Australia.
